چکیده
In this paper, a numerical investigation is performed on solidification procedure of Hybrid Nanoparticles Enhanced Phase Change Material (HNEPCM) in a Latent Heat Thermal Energy Storage System (LHTESS) with snowflake crystal structure. The application of such system is balancing the energy store and require-ment. Dispersion ofAl2O3−Gohybrid nanoparticles into water as PCM is regarded, due to its weak thermal conductivity. Further, in order to expedite the solidification procedure, thermal radiation effect is consid-ered as a heat source in the energy equation. The unsteady equations which govern the heat and mass transfer during the procedure are solved numerically using StandardGalerkin FiniteElement Method (SGFEM). A comparison between the Full Solidification Time (FST) and the total energy of pure PCM and HNEPCM is carried out. Roles of hybrid nanoparticlescharacteristics including the volume fraction and shape factor on solidification rate are also reported. Results indicated that considering hybrid nanoparti-cles with the volume fraction of 0.04 can expedite the solidification procedure by an increment of 24.1% in solidification rate
